چکیده
Ebola virus disease (EVD) is a severe and highly fatal zoonotic caused by viruses in the family Filoviridae genus Ebolavirus. The first appeared Zaire near River 1976, now Democratic Republic of Congo. Since then, several outbreaks have been reported different parts world, mainly Africa, leading to identification six distinct viral strains that cause humans other primates. Bats are assumed be main reservoir hosts virus, initial incidence human epidemics invariably follows exposure infected forest animals through contact or consumption bush meat body fluids harboring disease. Human-to-human transmission occurs when contaminated fluids, utensils, equipment come with broken abraded skin mucous membranes. EVD characterized sudden onset ‘flu-like’ symptoms (fever, myalgia, chills), vomiting diarrhea, then rapidly evolves into state rapid clinical decline which may lead potential hemorrhagic complications multiple organ failure. Effective prevention, detection, response necessitate strong coordination across animal, human, environmental health sectors, as well well-defined roles responsibilities evidencing significance one approach; natural history, epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnostic procedures prevention control efforts light approach, discussed this article.

The 2013-2015 Ebola Virus Disease outbreak in West Africa had similar nuances with the 1976 outbreaks in Central Africa; both were caused by the Zaire Ebola Virus strain and originated from rural forested communities. The definitive reservoir host of Ebola virus still remains unknown till date. However, from ecological perspective, it is known that the virus first emerged from forest ecotypes i...
